SkySlope Books is a web application designed for brokerages to
handle their company finances, specifically real estate finances like escrow payments and agent commission.
MY ROLE
Lead UX/UI Designer
THE PROBLEM
Brokers managing payments going in and out of their brokerage had to click into each individual property to view the payments needed, and complete them individually. This slows them down and frustrates real estate agents who are waiting on their commission payments. We wondered what might happen if we created a way for brokers to complete multiple payments, across multiple properties, all at once.
I hosted a brainstorming session with the product
owner and lead developer to kickoff a direction for
this work. We decided on a brand new page for managing payments outside of the property.
- View a queue of payments waiting to be submitted
- Pay individual payments
- Pay multiple payments at once
- Complete payments with all payment types

Taking the brainstorm into design, I stuck pretty closely to the functionality discussed, but deviated slightly to add a bulk action bar that appears after items are selected. This bar added more context to the actions and introduced a new component type we could re-use other places in the application.
